The legacy of thy grandfather.....
thou art thy grandson,
You are 16 but life has only begun,
I forfiet to thee neither silver nor gold,
But timeless riches that never grow old,
I was one a youth who did seek pleasure,
But time has given me life long treasure,
Time is of the essence for soon we shall cut all ties,
be not foolish but strive to be wise
My Son,
get wisdom, get understanding,
And forget them not,
As it is a blessing to be wise,
for wisdom is a well spring of life,
Seek and ye shall find her,
And when you do,
Drink to thy hearts content,
For happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
As her value is greater than precious stones,
love her and she shall promote thee,
Nevertheless thy grandson,
be ye forwarned as not to be overly wise,
lest thou become the fool,
Cursing thy father and bringing forth shame to thy mother,
The wise shall inherit glory.......but shame shall be the legacy of fools
My Son,
When thou findeth a virtuous woman to to give your love,
love her with all thy heart and ever love her continually,
So the question is asked "what manner of love is this?"
That she should be more than your wife but a companion,
Love her and love her abundantly,
Love her as thou loveth thine ownself,
In doing so thou will have no lack of gain,
Also love thy children,
Nurturng and teaching them,
Train them in the way in which they should go,
So once they grow old they will not depart from it,
So do not withhold love from whom it is due,
For in doing so thou causeth trouble for thine own soul,
Love.....and love is your reward
My Son,
Do not forget the place from whence you came,
Be aware of the place thou art now,
And keep thine eyes on where thou art going,
When thou setteth's out to do a thing,
Be patient and be diligent,
SO ponder the path of thy feet,
And let thy ways be established in what is right,
Do not be greedy for gain,
do not sleep nor slumber,
Lest poverty come on thee like a thief,
So my son arise.....be watchful and be hopeful,
Be like the ants and in summer who gather food in the harvest,
My son....if thou till the land thou shalt be satisfied with bread,
As it doeth a man good to enjoy the fruits of his labor,
For the toils of life doth repay what is rendered
My Son,
I have lived many years and I rejoice in them all,
Yet I shall not forget the days of darkness,
Which encompassed me and brought me low,
indeed I had many likewise thou shalt too,
nevertheless I am cheerful,
My Son the conclusion of the matter,
thou art in the spring time of thy youth,
rejoice and let thine heart be cheerful,
In all thy days walk in the ways of thine heart,
and in the sight of thine eyes,
but know thou that for all these things God will bring thee into judgement.
