2 day at the school i go to i was assulted by a random guy who walkes onto campus. i was walking with a group of other girls in the daylight not even 20 feet from the school.me and my friends were walking back and forth in front of the school. they were trying to tell me something but i didnt hear. he was behind me, and grabbed my butt. i turned around real slow, because i thought someone was playing. when i saw it was someone id never seen before, i was like this he asked me someting and i just backed up. when he started to walk away i screamed and yelled. he walked around the backside of the building and was gone. afterword i told two adults. they took a statment and i saw the tapes where you could see where he was and when he was following us girls. he was so close that it looked like one person. im ok now. but as i was sitting in class i was thinking why me, and how could i have been so stupid. what if he was carring a weapon or something. then i started to think about how could young ladies protect theirself from things like this. me and another teacher were thinking about a self-defense class, or something along that line. what do you out there think. i would really like to know. and also plese be aware of your surroundings. plese be careful. never think it cant happen to u

This is a really serious situation. You should let your parents know and he should be suspended. And you should file charges on him. When I was in 8th grade I came acroos two boys looking and point at my body and I was offended. The principal punished them both and I had the choice of getting them both arrested. You should tell the principal and if he/she doesn't do anything go to the police if it really affected you.

I think that self-defense class is a wonderful idea! I have sadly had my fair share of harrassment, and I wish someone had thought of this earlier! There are the half-hearted attempts in gym class, where the coach shows a few moves and makes you repeat them, and thats it. You learn nothing. But if there was an after-school lesson every day, meant to teach girls how to defend themselves against predators, there would be a lot less names on the "Missing Person" list! All in all, it is a spectacular idea, and I couldn't agree more with your plan!

the best thing, in my personal opinion, is ju jitsu. speaking from a personal perspective, that kicks WAAAAAY more butt than regular ol' self defence classes. one day, i was walking, just randomly walking around my neighborhood, and something like that happened to me. so, yeah... invest in some martial arts classes.

I agree with the idea of a self-defense class! We had something called RAD implemented during my senior year of high school (http://www.rad-systems.com/) that we did for a few weeks during health class. I don't know how similar it is to what bipolarbear learned in gym class, and I won't say it was the most life-changing class in the world, but at the very least it will teach you a few techniques and make you feel a little more confident that you have some bit of knowledge behind you. Martial arts are good, too, and also have more of a "cool" factor that will be more attractive than basic self-defense lessons at first, but keep in mind that, from my experience with them, martial arts require more discipline and dedication. It ultimately depends what type of audience you're trying to reach (i.e. self-defense lessons aren't as cumulative and easier to stick to if you're short on time, but martial arts are probably more effective in the long run if you have the time to dedicate to them). Do a little research and find out what you think will work best for the girls at your school. :)
I'm really proud of you for handling this experience so maturely, and it's really great that you're trying to help other girls now, too!

I totally agree w/ the martial arts; but hopefully they can be made available to all students so that money is not an issue with learning self deffense.
but don't think that ju jitsu is the only good option; tae-kwon-do can kick some serious butt too...
And I think you were very brave to bring this out into the open; many don't talk a/b these things untill eight years later or something. :)
The Happy Person! :D

all that is gud but non of it solves anything men are men and women are women and regardless wether u report him or take self defense it may continue to happen no i don think it was right of him women arnt animals and shouldnt be treated as so but at the same time some women take advantage because men cant really do much without being called rapist and if a women doed it then its fine but all in all i do have one self defense for you that can not fail his name is jesus the son of god and no im not forcing religion on you buh all my life i wanted to die never understood my purpose or anyone else i was harassed and much more and have been a foster child
