Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post (yay!). Anyway, I'm having a few annoying problems right now. One is that have issues with math. My school has had only Integrated (sp?) Math until this year. Integrated is basic algebra, geometry and trig all rolled into one class. And I had the same teacher for two years. And he sucked. I learned nothing. And then last year I had Pre-Calculus and got straight Cs. And now I'm in College Algebra (pretty much its upperclassmen in Algebra 2) and I'm terrified about how that's going to look on my transcripts. I'm not and have never been a math wiz, but this is just horrible. And now I'm hearing that some schools don't accept Integrated as a real math course. I don't know don't think its true, but what do I do if it is?!?
Another huge problem is that my class rank sucks. I should be higher, but I got lazy the second half of my soph. year and my English grade went down and my math ability is practically non-existant. Plus, this whole pack of jocks have higher ranks than I do. I don't have any problems with jocks (I'm a cheerleader), but when you know that half of them are cheating and getting away with it, but you can't say anything, because most of their father's work in the school (the big offender's father is the assistant principal so, yeah, he gets away with everything).
And now for the big issue. This year, we have a brand new guidance counselor for the juniors and seniors. She was a science teacher at our school until, obviously, this year. And everything is insane. My biggest concern is that I have never had her in class or have been in communication with her at all. So how can she fairly fill out a counselor evaluation form for me, or any student she never had? I was thinking about having the former counselor do it, but I don't think that's allowed, besides she's my aunt and that may be a conflict of interest(?). Any thoughts?
Any comments will help me right now? Thanks in advance!

I suggest you take some summer college level classes to raise your GPA up-typically the subjects you have interest in and are good at. For the class rank it should go up if your GPA starts to rise. If you are a junior just try your hardest junior year and you can balance out your sophomore year grades, take some AP's if you can handle it. I also know some cheaters at our school too, evil is sadly inevitable. But I guess if some good people strive to be their best with genuine abilities true success can touch our lives in spite of their fake ones.

Oh and for the counselor thing, try asking your previous counselor to fill it out for you because she has better experience with you.
Oh and if you know any other good information about college, please share with me too. =]
